Recruitment Training | In House
Employment Law & Recruitment Compliance
Employment Law is a complex subject but we’ve designed a range of modules covering employment legislation and compliance specifically for in-house recruiters, HR professionals and hiring managers wanting to understand more about their regulatory obligations.
Offered as individual modules, you can select one or more on a pick & mix basis to create a bespoke programme for you and your organisation’s objectives, delivered as a half day or full day workshop at your premises.
We will tailor the content of the workshops to your requirements and knowledge level to ensure all learning is completely relevant to you and your business.
Employment Law for Recruiters
The Equality Act 2010 prohibits discrimination during the recruitment process. In this two-hour workshop, learn how to avoid discrimination when preparing job descriptions, interviewing, testing and selecting your successful job applicant. We’ll also cover positive discrimination and how you can legally take steps to increase workforce diversity.
This three-hour module covers in detail how to correctly complete Right to Work checks, ensuring your company reduces any risk of non-compliance. Delegates will learn who can and cannot work in the UK; how to carry out a Right to Work check and appropriate documentation required; how to deal with different categories of workers; and how to identify fraudulent identity documents.
Health and Disability
Everyone is familiar with the requirement to make reasonable adjustments for disabled job applicants and employees. But does your team know what is ‘reasonable’, an ‘adjustment’ and the meaning of ‘disabled’? In this two-hour workshop, we take an in-depth look at when and how to make adjustments. We’ll also be looking what questions you can ask about health during the recruitment process.
The EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is a new EU regulation that will come into force on 25 May 2018. It will strengthen the current rules under the Data Protection Act (1998) by introducing new obligations for organisations and rights for individuals. These changes will impact how HR and recruiters process candidate data. This two-hour workshop will help recruiters familiarise themselves with these changes and begin preparing.
Do you know what sort of contracts you should be using, and when? There are lots of options from fixed-term, consultancy to zero hours’ employment relationships. Make sure your team are always advising the business on the most suitable contract. Find out the pros and cons of each type of contract in this one-hour workshop.
Ever wondered what the legal ‘mumbo jumbo’ in an employment contract means? We’ll give you the 101 on employment contracts and what can/can’t be negotiated, including restrictive covenants and probationary periods in this one-hour workshop.
Offers & Pay
Ever made an offer and needed to retract it? In this 1 hour workshop, understand your rights to change an offer or terminate a contract. How much flexibility is there to negotiate different rates of pay? Find out the rules on pay.
Safeguarding Children & Vulnerable Adults
Does your business have contact with children and vulnerable adults? In this one-hour module, find out what the law says about working in this environment and your obligations to carry out DBS checks on relevant staff pre-employment.
Is your team responsible for managing the relationship with recruitment agencies and agency workers? Find out what the Agency Workers Regulations 2010 require your business to have in place in this one-hour workshop.
